Cameron's 7 to 12 months

Mini-Blog:

6 MONTHS OF FIRSTS, and ups and down. The last 6 months have been fun and challenging. Cam still doesn't sleep for long periods of time, and he can be a fussy eater. On the nice side, in months 7-12, he has learned to crawl, figured out how to standup & cruise (but not quite walk yet), and said his first few words!

May, 2005. Cam has just begun to try and crawl. We just started to feed him 'solids' but he wears 80% of it. We all went to New York and Boston.

July, 2005. Cam is crawling about well. We went camping at Tahoe

August, 2005. Cam is crawling fast, and tries to 'catch' the cats...Mudpie & Miso let him get within a foot or two, then casually trot off or UP. He can grab the table and get up and stand, but does not seem interested in trying to walk. We all went to Oregon (Portland) and the Columbia River Gorge

Sep, 2005. He can say 'Mama' and 'cat' (well, it sounds more like 'gat') at the right times. He is still fascinated whenever M or M walks by, and stops whatever he is doing (eating, playing). He wants to feed himself and grabs at anything that we are eating.

Oct, 2005. His third word is 'Uh-Oh', often said at the correct time, such as after he drops (throws?!) a toy from his high chair. More milestones: copying funny noises that dad makes. Sticking his finger (right forefinger) up his nose (right nostril). At 12 months old, he is 22 lbs, 2 ozs, 29.5" tall.

Wow, a cookie birthday cake. What a happy kid! Cam is really happy too! 6 months.

Off he goes to NYC and Boston for his first airplane ride and big trip. 6 months. Click here for more NY trip.

MELTDOWN SERIES, age: 7 months, elapsed time: 1 minute, reason: how the heck would we know?!

Playing & being silly. 7 months.

Fascinated with pulling off flower petals, "she loves me, she loves me not". 8 months. 10 months.

Splashing in his little duck pool. He splashes hard, then stops and looks surprised that his face is all wet. 8 months.

Lazy lounging in his new 3-wheeler that we got at a clearance sale. 8 months

1st 'big' pool swim. He graduated from the duck pool to a real pool! He's very tired after 'swimming' for an hour. 9 months.

Crazy curious as usual. Found Mudpie! 9 months.

1st professional haircut. Traumatic to lose all that hair, but at least now <90% of people will think he's a girl. He was not a happy camper but puts on a brave face when it is over. 9 months.

Cam's 2nd pro haircut. Definitely not as upset. Maybe he even likes his spiky 'do. 11 months.

1st BISCUIT. Yummy! 9 months.

1st "I'm going to stand here and NOT go to sleep" defiance. 9 months.

2nd big trip on an airplane...we headed up to Portland, Oregon, and the Columbia River Gorge. 9 months. See more pics here.

SQUIRM SERIES, Cam and his friend Maya squirm & jockey for best position in front of the camera. 10 months.

Crawling up the stairs quickly and having fun. 10 months.

Whew, a new adventure trip every month...us parents are getting tired. We headed up to Tahoe for Andrew's multiday bday party bash replete with video games IN the cabin, and for the Reno Rib Cookoff. 10 months. Click here for more pics of that!

Lil' PUMPKIN SERIES, he was fascinated by this tiny pumpkin, 11 months.

Playing with the fish and the ol' (nonworking) laptop...he wasn't fooled for long and kept wanting to play with the laptop that WE were using. 11 months.

More pool fun, at our neighbor's easy-set inflatable pool! 11 months.

The little shark sneaks up on the fish in the aquarium. 11 months.

At Gymboree class, distressed over sticky rice all over his hands (hey, he put it there!), helping dad build 'stuff'. 11 months.
