This page NEW in September 2006. see pics below blog, click on pics to enlarge Mini-Blog: August (22 months): Has new crazy dance moves involving swinging arms and staggering about. Dozens and dozens of new words. Moke or mooch (milk), i-wastch (I want), ebepent (elephant), tow-tow (turtle), abpee (happy), pudpie (Mudpie), yurio (Cheerio), WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! (gimme) and so on. Imitates everything (gotta watch what you say/do)! Loves to imitate actions such as raising arms and saying 'YAY!!!' Everytime daddy tries to relax and lie on the floor, sits on dad and says 'neigh' and makes dad trot around. Can live on milk and Cheerios. Is addicted to PBSKIDS.ORG...makes mommy or daddy play the games while he watches. Knows that food dropped on the ground is deetee (dirty) and picks it up and puts it in the trash can. Wants to soap & wash hands himself...can sort of do it. Knows the sound for each animal we point to (neighhhhh, yeow, oof, bow-wow, baaaaaaah, mooooooo, quacht). Starting to say phrases weahahoo (where are you?). Knows some body parts in mandarin (nose, ears, mouth, eyes). Knows some body parts in english (foot, hands, chest). Pointing to one picture on a picturebook page, he'll point to a similar one. Actually wants to go to the pool to swim/play. September (23 months): Says longer phrases igogeit (I'll go get it). Extremely ginormously demanding very specific actions...such as wanting Daddy to open the fridge and picking him up to grab the carton of milk and letting himself pour it (which DOESN'T work well...). Likes to view pics and name the people in them. Wants to go outside when he hears an airplane. Calls ants 'ants' or 'maa-yii'. Calls flies 'ants'. Calls spiders 'ants'. Says 'hot!' when food is hot, and blows on it. Bundee (monkey). Bundee (bunny). Loves to say 'bubuy' and 'hiyo' to everyone. Says 'up' and 'down' correctly. Says 'Bebee gogurt' when eating his Yo-Baby brand yogurt. Sort of sings/hums 'twinkle twinkle little star' and the alphabet. Trys to swat ants ('flies')...thinks they're yucky. Gives big ol' little hugs. Puts on his own pants...sort of. Is DONE wanting to sit (at home) in his high chair or booster seat...wants to sit in a regular chair and peer over the table. Ow-don (all done). Pudpie (Mudpie). Still addicted to moowk (milk) a few times per day...there are worse addictions we suppose...such as his addiction to playing with the water faucet --big ol' messiness =) Is DONE with the high chair. Is DONE with taking baths...which he used to love doing. Really getting pretty good at throwing a ball. October (24 months): Still addicted to games & activities at pbskids.com...which isn't technically TV so it's okay, right?! Loves to race leaves when there is water running in the street gutter. Is fascinated playing with the water hose. Can eat 3 containers of gogurt (yogurt) for lunch. Is just about completely DONE with letting anybody feed him. Is DONE with his crib...sleeps on his own canopy/tent bed. Loves to dance AND 'play' music on his toy piano. Bum-bum-bee (bumblebee). Understands the abstract concept of "me" (Who is this in the picture? 'ME!' Who wants some milk? 'ME!' You?! 'NO...ME!!!'). I say 'Toe-mah-toe', you say 'Toe-may-toe', Cam says 'Pa-toe' (?!). Tee-ya ('Cori'...hmm, time to check for earwax). Says 'BRMMM BRMMM' when daddy accelerates hard in his car. Still points out all airplanes and now busses. Is BACK taking baths (Bath Crayolas and drawing Pa-toes on the tile did the trick...oh and letting him wear all his clothes). Likes to play a special version of hide-and-seek where he tells us where to hide...then goes away, comes back, and finds us. Says 'maa-yii' when he sees ants in the gutter...says 'ma-yo maa-yii' when he doesn't see ants in the gutter! Mostly done with the stroller. Occasionally shows glimmers of WANTING & LETTING us change his diaper by asking us to change him AND not squirming and protesting. This is his very own page.
