Well, a short time before we had our baby, we decided to heed some friends' advice and watch a last-movie-out-for-awhile...Collateral (pretty good...worth renting).  And we had a last-nice-dinner-out-for-awhile...Pearls Cafe in Fremont (nice ambiance, decent food).

And we waited.  And watched another last-movie-out-for-awhile...Shark Tale (fun, hip-hop energetic movie).

And had another last-nice-dinner-out-for-awhile...Cliff House (newly nicely renovated, good food, but fancy tiny expensive entrees are not quite our thing).

And the due-date came along and the baby was taking its time, so we walked, and waited...and had the famous 'Prego' pregnancy-inducing 13-topping pizza with extra garlic & onions at Nicolinos in Walnut Creek.  That didn't work, but it did give us really bad breath.  So we watched another last-movie-out-for-awhile on $1.50 Terrific Tuesday at the Super Saver: I, Robot (good, thought the animation seemed like an afterthought sometimes) ...then another Saver movie for $3.50:  Shrek 2 (excellent, hilarious, fine animation) ...and we went walking...and had spicy Indian food at Taste of India down the street...and went walking...nothing was working.

Then we saw Shaolin Soccer (silly, fun, goofy...maybe worth a rental if there isn't much else around and you're in the mood for a silly movie).  And better-late-than-never, we finally saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azhkaban at the Tech Museum's DOME Imax (good adventure movie, dome Imax is a bit hard to watch).

'kay, just about when we were running out of movies and getting tired of eating spicy foods and ambling about the mall, neighborhood, Coyote Hills, etc, and almost two weeks after the expected due date...

Cameron, a bouncing baby boy, was born!

Time: 12:11am, early Monday morning, October 25th, 2004

Weight:  7 lbs  7 ounces (dropped to 6lbs 8 ozs by Day 3)

Length:  19.5"

Labor:  24 hours.  Linda is tough as nails: she got to 9 cm without even a Tylenol and without complaining!  But she then had to have an epidural to loosen up the muscles for the last cm or two.

And here is Cameron at last:

Dave's view in the mirror of Linda and Cameron:

We've heard that babies get 'sleep-grins'...sleep-deprived dad gets 'sleep-DEPRIVED grins':

Nov 6th update, new stuff from the first two weeks or so:

We've almost made it to the two-week mark...we're sleep-deprived but not horribly so.  Cameron regained his birth weight quickly and is doing well.  When he is awake and not eating (uh, only an hour or two per day), he likes to stare at nearby objects and tracks them as they move.

Grandmas!  Grandma Boihon with Aren & Cameron, and Grandma Linda with Cameron:

Mommies!  Cousins Cameron & Aren with Anne & Linda:

More Mommies!  Sister Lisa with Zachary, Cameron, & Linda:

Dads!  Nick crying w/Maya (5 months), Dave crying w/Cameron (5 days), Andy w/Aren (4 months).  Aren says, "Why y'all cryin'?":

More Dads!  Carl w/Zachary (10 months), Nick w/Maya (5 months), Brian w/Luke (4 months), Dave w/Cameron (12 days):

Cameron votes (uh, sort of...we interpreted his wishes...) for the 1st time in his whole life on Nov 2nd!

Miso n' Mudpie!  They're starting to figure out that the little noisy guy is here to stay.  We think they'll all get along just fine.

Wow, Cameron has been gaining 2 ounces per day and has hit the TEN pound mark!  He is doing well.  We are doing okay too.  Lots o' work...sometimes it seems like we're taking care of TRIPLETS!

Bathtime!  Cameron's 1st bath at home (12 days old, definitely needed one!):

Kangaroo!  Dave & Cameron try out the Kelty Kangaroo carrier:

Party!  Cameron's alter-traditional Blue n' Gold Egg & Ginger Big Game Party (4 weeks old):

By the way, Cal rolled over Stanford, 41 to 6....and they're goin' to the Rose Bowl!

Sleep!  Good advice we've gotten--  "SLEEP WHEN THE BABY SLEEPS":

Smile!  Cameron's first, at one month old:

Turkey!  Thanksgiving at our house:

Hair!  Cameron checking out cousin Aren's crazy hair!:

At one month old, we took Cam on his first trip to a restaurant (Shanghai Cafe 369) and Fry's Electronics mega-Thanksgiving sale!  Dave was disappointed that Cam slept thru the rows and rows of fine gadgets.  He'll come around...  ;)
