June 24-26  For the first time in 8 years, we did NOT have a group camping trip at Tahoe.  For something new and something closer, we reserved two group sites in the fantabulous shady New Brighton State Beach campground in Capitola (south of Santa Cruz) instead:

A record 39 people enjoyed a fun weekend at the new locale.

Furry visitors scoped the campground for food scraps, while others took naps, and still others create mud puddles and mud torch art.

There was a fallen log 'play structure' which was a magnet for the kids:

Cam studies the Junior Ranger manual:

Some of us went hiking at nearby Nisene-Marks park....gorgeous treed canyons and creeks.

More miscellaneous good times!:

Wow, have you ever seen 6 or 8 little kids all washing dishes?!  More normal is 6 or 8 kids roasting marshmallows ;)

Eileen made homemade ICE CREAM for all.  mmmm!  Carol made super-mega-S'mores.

Lots of playtime and playing choo-choo and then relaxing.

Nearby Capitola City Beach was busy but it was a nice day to play in the sand and have SUSHI for lunch.
