We organized a group tour to Ano Nuevo State Park, site of the largest mainland breeding colony of elephant seals.  January is a great time to visit; you get to see the bulls fighting for the females, mating bulls and females, and also females giving birth to the pups!

Exactly how large is an elephant seal?  Melanie, Sarah, & Joseph show us! 

The average elephant seal is 14-16 feet LONG and weigh up to 2 1/2 tons!!
