Here are some of those MISCELLANEOUS smaller (non-overnight) events of 2003!  

2000-present JACL Volleyball league is where we've been playing volleyball many Sunday nights.  The leagues set up coaching by the Stanford Men's Volleyball coach (John Kosty) and former coach (Rubin Nieves) on some nights, and league play on other nights.  Here's a pic of part of Dave's team:

June 26:  After 3 months of unpacking and fixing things up, we finally settled into our new house and had a big ol' Housewarming party!  The weather was nice, the food was plentiful!:

July 4:  Independence Day fireworks with Andy & Anne.  We specialize in making our own 'combos' from 'safe-insane' fireworks.  The one on the left is called Dance Floor and the party is started with the lighting of just one fuse!

July 20:  We went hiking at Big Basin (Eagle Falls loop) with Nick and Sue for Nick's birthday.  Hmm, never before had the chance to hike 11 miles during an unusual 90-degree, humid heatwave to celebrate a birthday ; ).  But it was good times.

Oct 2:  Universal Studios and visiting Sandra (before going to Nick & Sue's wedding):  Will Linda be the next super action hero?   Linda, Zachary, Sandra, and Jacob doing a little painting, while Dave shows Joseph how to assemble a kite.

Nov 16:  Lisa and Carl's Baby shower party.  Lots o' good stuff and cake!

Congratulations to Lisa, Carl, and Baby Squeaky!

Nov 22:  Big Game (Cal vs Stanford) viewing and Apples2Apples party.  The Bears won it after a 7-year drought!  Carlton (not shown) was a happy clam...I mean, bear!

Dec 1:  Wow, our new 'hood actually has autumn colors!  Yeah...not 'til DECEMBER, but hey we'll take the colors even this late...

 

Dec 6:  Kris and Anthony visit from Seattle.  We went off to S.F. for dim sum and touring about, and to CityBeach for some rock climbing fun.  Shapoor and Nick joined us too.

Dec 14:  We had a little Holiday gathering with Eileen, Henry, Jayson, Aaron, and Shana.

We made holiday cookies with cookie "play" dough which tasted surprisingly good!

Dec 31:  We rang in the New Year with some good friends, food, poker (Peter took everybody's money), flaming shots (Wai's special), party popper guns (big mess), and a early morning movie (X-Men 2)!
